Proper Stages
Last week, we wrote about motion with intent. This week, the system spoke back. Not in promises, not in projections — but in presence beyond pretence. Our boldest claim yet: Maybe we don't have to boil water for power.
After weeks of structuring, aligning, and quietly carrying weight, we stepped into a room where the conversation is no longer about whether deeptech matters, but who is actually building it. At FrontierTechX in Birmingham, a line became visible, and we look forward to TechX San Jose.
Structure
While the outside sees a panel, a keynote, a moment — the inside knows what made it possible: weeks of cleanup, alignment, and decisions that removed just enough friction to allow clarity to surface. Cap table work continues toward finalization, and with it, the transition from “prepared to move” to “moving with consequence.” Let dogs bark where the park belongs to the city. Structure is directional.
Public Signal
At FrontierTechX, we joined the panel discussion alongside operators, researchers, and builders shaping the frontier of applied technology. Grounded participation in a conversation that is finally catching up to reality. What stood out wasn’t volume, but actual alignment. We are happy to have co-sponsored the event and look forward to an even greater contribution next year.
Location
With all major reports processed and contractual alignment in place, the transition from interim continuity to permanent footprint is entering its final window. We only need to sign the lease once contractors are mapped for the move. The deadline is the first of May, giving us a month to set up.
Grant Tracks
The consortium has moved through its final shaping phase, balancing technical credibility with delivery realism. Work packages have been redistributed where necessary, and the structure now reflects execution capacity rather than ideal scenarios. Great news: We will move our bid from the previously planned Mid Stage round 11 to the next year’s Late Stage round 12. This gives our academic partners more time to scope, and the rest of the consortium more time to align.
Product Track
Stage I (Foundations) continues under active constraint. Parallel mechanical and casing workstreams need to align with integration requirements, reducing the risk of iteration collapse later in the chain. Finally, a new update to the progress tracker is expected this Wednesday.
Travel
The European sequence is closing its loop with the next stations already mapped.
Last week next our time in Birmingham;
- Turin delivered industrial alignment for our 20% A-Series.
- Germany introduced financial reinforcement & Cambridge was fun.
Upcoming appearances to watch out for:
- May & June: USA & Canada
- August: India & Bangladesh
- September: China & Japan
Movement is no longer exploratory or by chance, but actually connective.
Next: consolidation in April, before the next international phase begins.
Operation
The calm before the storm; Not because less is happening — but because fewer things are breaking. Accounts mostly prepared, Administrative closure scheduled. Although our academic partners have not been able to kickoff the Energy Catalyst Round 11, we are delighted to move towards a potential engagement with the upcoming round twelve. Moving from Mid to Late stage the budget that would be supported has rise substantially.
Publications
The review paper begins its parallel evolution. With academic alignment deepening and data structures in place, the work is transitioning toward synthesis. The timeline remains anchored in Q2–Q4, but more importantly, the intent is now shared across institutions, not carried internally. The written layer is starting to walk alongside development.
Summary
Structure transitioning from stability to directional execution
Great Portland Street is nearing the operational activation window
Consortium assembly finalized under real delivery constraints
Stage I progressing with consistency as a gating factor and drag
European travel sequence closing into the April consolidation phase
Operations stabilizing into routine ahead of May accounts
Energy. Time. The Future.
