Valid Opinions

First and foremost: rest in peace, Sir Patrick Stewart. ✝️

It's been a good week at KCM. Accounts submitted, technical research briefs delivered, an academic paper submitted for review, and the next phase of our mapped road to revenue is under way.

Everybody has an opinion. We prefer the ones that survive experimentation. A few items remain in progress. Several others have already advanced.

Structure

Registry formalities are complete, with further entries expected next week as the related corporate processes advance. Submission and public visibility are separate milestones; we will share the public record once it updates.

The remaining tax-office correction is being implemented. Once reflected in the registry, banking can advance toward releasing KCM’s capital injection. We maintain a clear distinction between committed and available capital.

Meanwhile, our November plan has moved from paperwork towards coordinated launch. Research agreements, initial planning sessions and a four-stage November–December preparation journey are bringing the engineering, research and AI integration workstreams together.

The foundations are getting rather crowded. In a good way. Humans remain tribal.

Product

Following execution of the confidentiality arrangements, we are moving into discussions about BOM, form factors, piezoelectric scaling, composite integration and ZnO growth with our new academic partner (RGU).

The proposed starting point is deliberately practical: replicate mechanical-to-electrical energy harvesting, measure energy storage and load behaviour, establish controls, and retain reproducible experimental data.

Bench protocol → Harvesting & storage → Repeatability → Materials comparison

Our work with the Manufacturing Technology Centre is also progressing towards the agreed planning date of 17 November, with formal mobilisation under way.

Further application discussions, including potential auxiliary-power uses, are exploring where small, reversible demonstrations could produce useful evidence before committing to larger integration.

The aim remains unchanged: make the technology measurable, buildable and repeatable. We grow useful crystals; the industries humanity has built are more than capable of using an upgrade.

R&D Focus

On 27 October, our joint Industry Track paper was submitted to ACM CHIIR 2027. The Human in the Loop Is Only as Good as the Attention It Gets: Lessons from a Deep-Tech SME examines the realities of engineering-information review, evidence quality and human oversight in AI-assisted workflows.

Peer-review decisions are expected in December. That distinction matters. Submission is a milestone; acceptance is the next stage.

Alongside it, our technical onboarding plan now connects materials research, experimental documentation, engineering fundamentals and AI-assisted data review work into a single framework.

Different disciplines. One increasingly coherent system.

Ecosystem

From international policy discussions to manufacturing and commercialisation, the upcoming calendar offers plenty to explore:

  • 5 November — World Economic Forum: From Uncertainty to Opportunity, exploring supply-chain resilience in a fragmented world.

  • 6 November — Innovate UK: National Quantum Technologies Showcase, London. Connecting with the UK advanced-technology ecosystem.

  • 11 November — Tech Nation: Beyond Borders, an invitation to a curated London gathering on investment, international growth and scaling.

  • 18–20 November — University of Southampton: Innovation Festival 2026
    Participating to asses future industries.

  • 18–20 November — World Economic Forum: Strategic Intelligence Outlook 2026. We are delighted to accept this exclusive invitation.

  • 16 December — UK–India SME Trade & Investment Reception: A further international opportunity, hosted at the UK Parliament.

  • 2 February 2027 — Innovate UK Business Connect: Advanced Manufacturing Showcase, Manchester. Exploring the future of production.

We also received an invitation to participate in Web Summit 2026's ALPHA startup programme but have chosen to defer participation to next year. We have learned that applause and support are not always the same thing in practice. One is easy to offer; the other shows up when there's work to be done. We look forward to it. Insight is earned.

A growing network is valuable, but knowing where to spend our attention matters just as much.

Operations

Status: Working

The website remained online throughout the planned security period. Our walls shall hold forever, with a little help from continuous maintenance, naturally. Migration to Linux, all systems and independent network architecture is mapped for mid-2027.🛡️

Outlook

The coming weeks are about converting preparation into further verifiable progress:

  • Further corporate registry milestones and financial clearance.

  • Intended technical commencement, subject to activation arrangements.

  • Continued Mk-X validation, manufacturing development and pilots.

Some progress is already in the books. More close enough to plan around, but not yet ours to announce. This week delivered a submitted academic paper, a completed technical research package, financial reporting progress and more people joining the fray. The outlook is encouraging.

Good work behind us. Full steam ahead.

Energy. Time. The Future.
