Level Check

Turns out the next level doesn't unlock itself.

After months of legal, financial and administrative challenges, the final obstacles appear to have given way. Some of the official records still need to catch up, but we're already looking beyond consolidation.

Research is advancing, manufacturing preparations are progressing, and industrial battery sales could begin considerably sooner than previously anticipated.

We've even brought our longer-range revenue target forward from 2029 to 2028.

So, where are we? Let's check.

Structure

The latest developments are cause for celebration. Following extensive coordination with the relevant parties, we've received our clearest indication yet that the outstanding administrative steps have been addressed. The corresponding registry update is expected next week, with banking execution and the planned injection of funds following the applicable clearance procedures.

We're keeping the final distinction intact: resolution in principle, formal registry confirmation and available capital are separate milestones. But finally, all lined up.

The objective is straightforward: Operating structure and the next phase with considerably less administrative baggage.

Next week should give us the foundation for an exceptional outlook.

Product

Our technical work is beginning to connect with the institutions and applications needed to carry it forward. Following the submission of our first technical research package, we're arranging technical discussions for next week. The proposed starting point remains practical: controlled replication of mechanical-to-electrical energy harvesting, measurable storage and load behaviour, experimental controls and reproducible results. (And all that in tandem with our commercial pilots)

Bench protocol → Controlled replication → Storage validation → Comparison

Preparations with the Manufacturing Technology Centre continue towards the planned 17 November mobilisation, subject to the remaining commercial formalities.

Our Mk-X development priorities remain focused on crystal production, material consistency, mechanical integration, electronics and scalable manufacturing.

We've also refreshed our Iterations page, bringing the development status and current state of our work into closer alignment with the roadmap towards 2027 pilot applications. The technology hasn't changed direction. Our understanding of how to develop and deploy it has become more precise.

And now, batteries. Remember our earlier discussions about data-centre pilots and possible deployments through our international network? Introductions involving partners in Shanghai remain in progress.

But China never sleeps, and neither does industrial demand for energy storage. Alongside those discussions, we've developed a new sales-cooperation approach that could bring industrial battery systems into KCM's commercial portfolio by 2027. The final commercial arrangements and product details remain pending, so this is a preview rather than a launch announcement.

The opportunity is significant for our wider strategy: commercially established energy-storage systems could give KCM an earlier route into industrial markets, create customer relationships and help finance the expansion of our proprietary materials production.

Two complementary product paths. One industrial future.

We still intend to grow useful crystals. We're simply finding more ways to build the business around them that allows us to do so.

R&D Focus

Our research organisation is approaching its next operational stage.

Individual plans have been circulated, and our November–December programme now connects materials science, engineering fundamentals, AI-assisted evidence management and technical coordination.

Meanwhile, our joint Industry Track paper has been submitted to ACM CHIIR 2027 and awaits a peer-review decision. Together with the RGU discussions continuing next week and our manufacturing programme, this gives KCM three complementary and interlocked development capabilities: research, engineering validation and the preservation of evidence across both. We're also looking beyond individual projects. Common infrastructure, reproducible documentation, independent computing resources.

Different disciplines. One increasingly coherent system.

Ecosystem

The invitations keep arriving, and the calendar is becoming rather full.

Today's highlight is the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase 2026, hosted by Innovate UK in London. We're looking forward to the exchange between advanced materials, electronics, manufacturing and emerging technologies.

The upcoming programme includes:

  • 11 November — Tech Nation: Beyond Borders, a curated London gathering, focused on international growth, capital and scaling.

  • 12–13 November — RGU: Technical alignment to review experimental methods, measurement protocols and potential research activities.

  • 18–20 November — WEF: Strategic Intelligence Outlook 2026, examining disruption, resilience and the human dimension of future industries.

  • 25 November — Battery Innovation Programme: Deadline for an opportunity, subject to the relevant project and investor eligibility requirements.

  • 26 November — National Materials Innovation Programme: Deep dive into the Digital Materials Sandpit & other advanced-materials commercialisation.

  • 16 December — UK–India SME Trade & Investment Reception: A further international business opportunity scheduled at the UK Parliament.

  • 2 February 2027 — Innovate UK Business Connect: Advanced Manufacturing Showcase, Manchester. Curiosity is key.

Not every invitation becomes a partnership, and not every conversation produces an immediate result. Still, the range of opportunities is expanding, and the overlap between our research and commercial ambitions is becoming increasingly useful.

Operations

Status: Upgrading

Our immediate focus is on activation, technical onboarding, manufacturing coordination and the infrastructure necessary to support a resilient organisation.

Compliance arrangements are being finalised alongside the responsibility setup, while our longer-term plans for independent systems, security and computing infrastructure remain in development. With potential industrial sales entering the picture, supplier coordination, product documentation, commercial processes and compliance will also form part of our operational planning.

We're looking forward to a little less administrative firefighting and a great deal more engineering, with a vacation for Ops over Christmas.

Outlook

Until now, our commercial roadmap has largely followed the development and scaling of KCM's proprietary crystal technologies.

We're now preparing a second route: industrial battery sales through international cooperation, operating alongside our own research and manufacturing programme. That changes the timing.

Our current plan is to begin initial commercial activity before the end of 2026, and align our proprietary development with the planned 2027 pilot programme.

As a result, we are bringing forward the longer-range revenue milestone previously targeted for 2029 to 2028, subject to commercial execution, pilot outcomes and manufacturing readiness. We're accelerating once again.

The priorities ahead are clear:

  • November 2026: Formal confirmation, funding activation, technical project onboarding and manufacturing mobilisation.

  • December 2026: Initial industrial preparations, alongside continued research and operational integration. (+ Christmas)

  • 2027: Sales, industrial partnerships, Mk-X validation through pilot work and progressive readiness.

  • 2028: Revised target for the longer-range revenue milestone, supported by the combined commercial and proprietary technology retail strategy.

These remain targets, not accomplished results. But the commercial options available to us have expanded. Next week should bring the final consolidation milestones and a clearer foundation for what follows. After that, we'd like to enter the Christmas period with a clean slate, an aligned team and the next year already taking shape.

For a company that spent so much of 2026 preparing to move, the prospect of beginning 2027 with several active workstreams is rather satisfying.

Level checked. Next stage loading.

Energy. Time. The Future.
